I've been fighting carpal tunnel for yrs. being a mechanic my wrists are strong, but the tunnels where the nerves go through the wrist get inflamed and pinch off the nerves making your hands go numb and hurt. sometimes my forearms hurt all the way to my elbows. the drs told me yrs ago that i had the beginings of CT and would most likely need surgery. I've been thinking about having both wrist done at the same time. the wife can hold uncle sammy for me for 2 weeks..
What about Wiping, she going to come in and do that too. Do one at a time.
U've said U changed grips, what U didn't mention is have U changed job at work, do U have a repetitive job that would cause CTS.
As a Safety rep that my job also included work-comp cases, our workforce started have a lot of CTS when we went to more hands on production of heavier and high output of parts.

Man, I really do understand the level of suffering one can endure before desperate actions are deemed necessary--boat-builders hands are treated no better--but I hope you think this through and try every alternative before you resort to surgery, especially on both hands at the same time! I will get a grip lever, and I am actively seeking a pair of gel-padded gloves but, for me, this is just too personal an accessory to buy sight-unseen; I would like to try them on before buying. Also I have found that proper deep-tissue massage is both extremely painful and beneficial.
I had CT surgery three weeks ago, and am going in tomorrow for the other. Can't believe I waited as long as I did. Was back riding in two weeks. Get a real diagnosis then get it fixed. Don't suffer through it.

Don't have much to add that everyone else hasn't mentioned. I have CT (too many years lifting bombs and missiles in the Corps). As mentioned you changed the grips, did you change the position of the throttle housing?
From: Back in the Good Ole USA. South Carolina to be exact.
Seriousely, I have the friction on my throttle set enough so that it stays where I put it. When I ride in the country I have a relaxed grip, I might loosen it a bit for running around town.
