How many here use their Harleys for basic transportation?
I ride 65 miles round trip to work 5 days a week and whenever I can on the weekends. There is bad weather and snow in the winter so its about 6 months on and 6 month off when it comes to commuting. Not to say I havent riden in the rain. Winter is what all the off road toys are for and I love the desert in the winter for riding in the dunes.
I ride mine as much as possible.
I pastor a church and often make hospital visits on my RK. Got me a wrinkle free sport coat I tuck away in my saddle bag and off I go. I must admit I get some strange looks from people when I'm introduced as a pastor when I pull up on my bike. Oh well... I love to ride!

I ride mine every chance I can, except for the work commute. That's 150 miles a day I don't want to put on my bike. Call me crazy, but after being on the bike for nearly 2 hours... I just don't want to go in there. So in the interest of keeping my job, it's best I don't ride to work.
Of course it gets pretty icy and snowy here i nthe winter, so that's out of the question. But as soon as the salt's washed off the road, I go everywhere else on the bike, that's why I bought the tour-pak. People look at me funny when I unload the shopping cart into my bike at Walmart.
I take the bike to Home Depot, unless I gotta buy lumber or windows.

I ride 32-35 miles each way to & from work most days and 150 miles home when I get my weekends. I work in the Atl. area and live in East Tenn. During the work week I stay at the motherinlaws house so as not to have to be on the road for 6 hrs. a day. Bike has 151,000+ now. Thats just the commuting part. During good ridin weather add at least 100 miles a weekend to that. If the weather gets too crappy I use a Geo Metro convertible that at times gets better mileage than the bike. Still for me it's more than a hobby, It's a way of life. Ride Safe Ya'll.
