Default How many here use their Harleys for basic transportation?

I'm talking day-to-day stuff to work, errands, etc. I realize that winter, kids, etc. play a part in having a cage. But how many actually use their bikes as more than just a weekend toy. They were initially considered as basic transportation. I get a kick out of want-ads that say things like "never seen rain...". Wha?

That is the main reason i bought my bike. I admit, since i'm a noob, i am a fair weather rider. when the weathers nice it is my transport to work. 20miles each way.

Ride to work when the fog is not too bad or raining. I get caught in thunderstorms enough during the summer don't care much for that.

Wife does the grocery shopping etc. Ride the bike at least 22 miles 5 days a week and some on the weekend when I am not working on or buying and selling Harleys and parts. But i do drive my KW T800 about 90,000 miles a year and borrow the daughters car when its at or below freezing which is only about 15-25 days a year here.

My bike is basic transpo unless I have to go the laundry mat or the grocery store or buy something i can't carry on the bike. I have the bike, I might as well ride it.
