What’s up with this?

Decided to put a CB on the EGC and I liked a different radio than HD provides however when it got down to the antenna, the difference stopped, so I ordered an HD antenna, mounting brackets and hardware. I spliced into the load coil everything was cool until I went to bolt the cable up to the antenna base inside the travel box. Damn! They didn’t give me the nut! No biggie, I go down to the local hardware store only to find that it’s a metric nut. What gives with that? So, should just weld it on?

Go to a radio supply store such as Radio Shack or even a
good hardware. Metric hardware is available nearly everywhere,
even Tractor Supply.
