Anybody tried to do anything to make the CB radio work better? If so, what did you do and how big of an improvement did it make? I am real curious about the SWR readings: are they low enough right from the factory? Any info will be appreciated!
Funny you should mention making sure the antennas are on the right side. I was cruising through my local dealer the other day, just killing time, checkin' out the '08 Ultras. Something was weird about one of them but I couldn't put my finger on it. Every time I walked away from it I had to go back because it bugged me. Then I noticed it: CB antenna and radio antenna were reversed! The other four had them correct but they were switched on the one. Yikes!
Thanks for the info. CB used to be a hobby of mine, I was curious as to what I can expect when I get my new Ultra.
Depending on your location and CB activity... don't expect much! The CB radio combination isn't all that compared to a stand alone CB radio. It will pickup close by receptions and transmitte close by.. You may even pickup some "skip" from time to time but won't work very well for in town traffic.
