My HD roadtech detachable radar detector self-detached when i hit a pothole and went bouncing down the highway at 70 MPH. I call that a badly designed part instead of sloppy maintenance.

I'm actually surprised that Harley hasnt slapped their logo on duct tape and zip ties.

Since they dont include one, that should just be the standard Tool Kit from the factory.

Got 34,000 miles on my 08 street glide. So far, the shifter has come off twice while riding somewhere around 11,000 mile mark. First time I happened to be near my dealer. They put another on under warranty on the spot while I waited. A week later it happened again, luckily near another dealer and he had the parts in stock including the non-stock shifter peg. This time we put it on together and I watched them apply the locktite.

Nothing since.

I've had a few things "fall off" while parked outside Edmonton HD... rear signal lens this year... last year a few chrome bolt covers came off while sitting outside the same dealership while I was inside picking something up.

Ha, agreed. It's like my G/F always asking me why my pipes are so loud and if they really save lives?

"Nope, it's just better than listening to all the squeaks and rattles"
