Default Down shifting

Hey Guys,

After a very long time of day dreaming, I am now the proud owner of a 06 Night Train. I picked it up with zero scratches, and no dings. Only 743 miles.

Anyway, I have rode jap bikes in the past, but this is my first HD.

Is it ok to down shift with slowing down at a light?

Thanks,
Dank

Ride it like you stole it the first 1k miles. Just be careful riding in the rain or washing it, Harleys have been known to melt on this board

Edit: Heard the melting joke on here but couldn't find the thread to give due credit. Just didn't want to claim it as my own.

It's either that or use the brakes, or both.

I always downshift as well as braking. That way when the light turns green with me still 50 feet from it, I am ready to go.

Do you mean downshift, or engine break??
Doesn't matter really, you can do both! LOL
