Recheck the torque on the flange nuts after the motor has been through several heat cycles.

make sure to not over tighten the bolts securing it to the head. I didnt have a torque wrench when i did mine but i finger tightened and then did quarter turn with a socket. I rechecked the bolts after 100 miles and havent had any issues since.

An extra set of hands to help with positioning the pipes during install is good. Installing pipes isn't difficult, but it can be awkward, and you sure as hell don't want scratches or dings on your new pipes.

A more important tip....wipe ALL your greasy hand and finger prints off the pipes before firing that baby up...or you might have permanent reminders of your handywork.

Use new gaskets and a extra pair of hands definitely helps. Recheck everything after about a hundred miles. Have fun.

I agree, it's a fairly easy task. I installed my staggered big shots in about an hour.

good point - i wiped mine down about 3x with rubbing alcohol to make sure there was nothing left - the V&H instructions have this as the final step... so make sure you dont get too excited and fire it up too soon!

Side Shots on my Wide Glide and D&D Fat Cats on my Road Glide were a snap. A lift and proper tools make it easy.

It is very easy my friend, really no specialized tools. I put the Shortshots on my FXDX and it probably took myself 1.30 hrs max.
