I heard on a radio show yesterday, that some chrysler vehicles recommend not using E10, the reasoning they gave is that the ethynol is harder on rubber seals that straight gasoline. The hosts of the show advised the lady that called in to avoid E10 if she could.
if some places are mandating it, how are people supposed to avoid it? Doesn't make sense.
E10 should not harm anything but already compromised lines. Iowa has had gasohol for about 3 decades and those old rides had no problems. E85 cannot be used on vehicles w/o fuel system mods.
When I had my 74 Charger on the raod, it would run way better on e10 too.
Now I only have 2 choices of places to buy gas in this town (sheetz, sunoco), so I don't know if it really is the E10 that is that much better, or that the other stuff is that much worse.
I ride an 06 Road Glide with some of the same symptoms you are talking about. Mostly after a hot restart the thing would miss fire and even several times died...just pulling on the road or leaving a parking lot. Very dangerous!!! Dealer checked it all out and of course found nothing wrong. I took it upon my self to go with the stage one set up....SE air cleaner, SE slip-on mufflers and a PCIII. Problem solved.
By the way I am from Iowa and have been using the Ethanol gas all the time.
Last three 'fill-ups' were with 10% ethanol fuel. I have notices some sputtering. Jot sure if it was the gas though.
I also heard from someone that I should follow the acronym METS when buying fuel in order to steer clear of the 10% ethanol. He said METS stands for Mobil, Exxon, Texaco and Shell???? I think this is what he said.

Has anyone else heard this???
Supposed to be all stations in our area are supposed to have E10 for pollution control in the summer. Replaces the other blends like MTBE and stuff.
Kruzin,
i am having the sputtering or even the stalling at really bad times, entering a main road and even leaving the parking lot. I am looking into the sert or pc111. Has the PC111 worked well for you?
