Default Engine breathing

So I was really cleaning up the bike and I noticed the tubing coming from the breathers(?) in the heads of the engine runs straight down but there is a worm clamp and remnants of what used to be some sort of plug. Should there be anything on the end of the tube, or should it just be opened to allow air to run freely through the hose to the heads.

Mine does the same thing but doesn't have anything in the end of the hose. it's supposed to connect to the air cleaner but that stuff is all gone.

ah, that would make sense to connect to the air cleaner just like in regular car engines. So I should probably just let it dangle as is?

i would put some kind of filter on it just to keep road debris and crap in general out. That's probably what was on it before.

Sounds like there was a "catch can" of some sort at the end of the hose.

yeah there must have been cause it leaks a few drops of oil after riding it, What do you guys think I should do with it? leave it alone, find some sort of cheap catch can to put on it, or just kinda bend it upwards and secure it better against the frame.

There are small filters that were used on some of the older harleys to catch the drips. You can find them in parts catalogs like J&P and others.

You could just add another section of black tubing long enough to let things drip on to the pavement like the old down draft tubes. I did that on my EVO.
