The lesson learned should be not to follow too close so that you can stop without hitting the vehicle in front of you.

From your own words I see no fault but yours. Don't worry the tail light shouldn't cost your insurance too much.

There seem to be so many more a$$holes on the road than there used to be. And it seems like it's more outright malice than inattention. Can't seem to go anywhere without at least one trying to get you. Glad you weren't hurt more than you were.

gotta agree... the guy behind you did not wreck you, you following too close to a truck in front of you did.

I try not to follow too close as I've been distracted before and had close WTF moments. Sometimes we need to rethink how we drive.
