When the rear cylinder on my Heritage Classic gets hot, it heats my leg up to the point where I feel like it's cooking. Some of the tourers come with heat shields but Harley doesn't have them for the other bikes. I found some Kuryakyn Heat Shields for Softails. Only took about 20 minutes to put on and they work great. Doesn't look like $70 worth of material, but worth the $70 bucks I paid. I
I got mine from an HDF Member who had just traded his Heritage for another Hd. I'm not sure who made them but they work great and look like they came stock on the bike.
I put them on my 2010 Heritage Softail . . . the Kurakyn Saddle Shields work as well and even better than I expected . . . plus they're nearly invisible. I figure I paid $50 for the great idea and the balance for the materials . . . seems fair . . . particularly in retrospect.
