I do all my own services since the 60's EXCEPT when the dealer throws them in for free as Reiman's HD in Kewanee does on the 1K when you purchase a bike there.
Here is a pic of my garage service area where I do the service's on my 5 HD's, three Corvettes, a Viper, my wife's car and my truck. That is the 010 Ultra just after I installed the oil cooler.
Here is a pic of all the vehicles.
In addition to services and installations, I do my own tire replacement, balancing, spoke lacing and what ever is needed.
As I said, I like to be self reliant so I have the skills, tools, equipment and resources to do so.
Funny! I've had the front end apart, front fairing, rear wheel, primary, exhaust, battery, and a whole lot of other stuff off (and back on - correctly), without ever pulling the maxi-fuse. I too, do not know where it is? I'm assuming it's under the LH side cover?
The only time it bit me in the a$$ was when I accidently ground out the positive cable while attaching it to the starter. But now that I think about it, pulling the fuse wouldn't matter anyway!
Sweet garage 4X4!

You guys have me all confused. As a man, I'm not supposed to ask directions but I am supposed to read the manuals. I am supposed to put $12 per qt. oil in my bike every 1-2thousand miles because I love it and am NOT cheap but I should let an old guy with little mechanical knowledge, not enough tools and no training do the work on my bike. I have to agree....READ THE MANUAL.

Interesting how you specifically mention the brand of bikes, Vettes, oh yes and the Viper but then gloss over the rest.
Glad you do as much work on your bikes and vehicles as you can. I too (along with a boatload of others here) am a garage mechanic and have been since I started riding in the 60s. Have the parts and service manuals to go with my bikes and truck.
Think people ask questions here for various reasons...lack of the requisite skill levels, lack of confidence, new to the bike, should have read the owners manual or service manual first but looking for the short answer.
But I suppose if it bugs you that much then just do not open the thread and if you do, just do not reply

The manuals assume you are a working mechanic. They leave a lot of unanswered questions for me. I usually have an experienced mechanic help me if it seems out of my experience level
I agree with that. But I think that questions like those, where you don't understand something in the service manual, will be answered here on the forum with no insults added. It shows that at least the person is trying to help themselves. It's the questions like "I'm going to change my transmission oil but I don't know which drain plug it is. Can someone help me?"
