Don't buy something that you can't afford. You will just lose it and sink you credit rating further. Start a bank/credit union savings account. When you have the amount you need go get it. If you can make the loan payment you have the same capacity to pay your savings account the same amount.

Good luck finding a subprime lender. Unlike a car that is easily repo'd, a lender knows the risks are higher and they'll never receive the collaterial if the loan goes into default. I am not aware of any out there anymore.
Don't know about Sub Prime but Gainesville HD uses Campus Credit Union ( U of FL ) They give a fairly good rate not sure of the percentage but several using have told me was fair ..
