Thanks man, this is a very cool map. I tried to post the map I can look at on Mark's company softeware program but because it is a company tool, all I get is a blank .gif..The software his company uses is a very powerful tracking tool they use to track freight all over the country but because I had to have a log in and password, I can't copy/paste any images from there.
Did you try using your printscreen key that will copy the whole image on display to clipboard. Then paste it in image program.
I was just reading a thread about this on the tourers forum. One poster was talking about how some of the riders had gotten sponsors and were riding to raise money for some cause or another. He said these riders seem to think Hoka Hey is the real deal.
Well, if you're doing the ride, challenging yourself against other riders, that's real - regardless of the prize money or not, or anything else.
I travelled to Tok alaska from Haines junction, Yukon yesterday. Stopped in at Border City just a few miles inside Alaska and was talking to a girl at the station. They are expecting the first riders to start passing through early next week. She also said the prize will be a solid gold coin. If that is true, that thing will weigh about 41 pounds?
12 troy ounces to a pound and with gold about 1000/oz, that would be 12000 dollars to the pound, so the coin would weigh about 41 pounds. That is one heavy coin to try to stuff in your pocket.

I'd figure some way to manage.

Well my good friend in the Hoka Hey crashed and is out of the competition.
Refer to page #4, post #36 for information on Ralph that I posted early on. He has been entered since last September and this is a real disapointment for him.
This is a copy of the email I just sent to all our HOG chapter members that have been following his progress and have supported him.
Hey folks I have spoken with Ralph twice today and want to give you all an update.
The good news is he is okay and currently on his way home to North Carolina as I type this.
The bad news is he was involved in an accident yesterday that bruised him up pretty good and did extensive damage to his bike.
Ralph had logged close to 4000 miles in the challenge and was near Flagstaff, Arizona riding with three other competitors in the Hoka Hey Challenge when one of the riders, a guy from Texas, cut him off and Ralph hit him in the left side. They had just slowed from 70 MPH to around 55 to 60 MPH when it happened and the impact was so hard that it knocked Ralph out cold. He has a bad bruise on his hip and a banged up nose. He said his helmet saved his life and he was going to bring it to the next chapter meeting to show the importance of wearing a helmet. The helmet is cracked in two places.
Ralph is not in the best of spirits as his pride is bruised up the most right now. He is of course disappointed, mad, unhappy about his bike and probably a little embarrassed as we all would be. I am just very thankful that he is alive with no serious injuries and is already talking about riding again. He was actually talking about going to Sturgis with Sonny and plans to rent a bike! That's the Ralph I know!
Ralph was lucky enough to meet up with a guy that was towing a trailer our way and they put his bike on the trailer and Ralph has a chauffeur back to North Carolina. He was even trying to figure out if he could get back in time to rent a bike and do 5 million mile Monday with us. The guy is like a machine! He'll find out when he gets back to Tilley's if the bike can be repaired or if it is totalled.
Lynn is still on the course checking in at the official check points but taking his own route to Alaska and lets all keep him in our prayers for safe travels.
I know these two guys will have some great stories for us when they return.
"Hoka Hey" = It's a good day to Die - I'm just thankful the good Lord answered our prayers and Ralph is still with us.
