Wiley-X here. Nice glasses. I have the transition lenses, and they transition pretty quick. They also have the removable foam wind protector, that can be easily removed for wearing as a regular pair of sunglasses. The foam protector can be bought seperately as they do wear out. I just bought my wife a pair this year too.
They don't get extremely dark when in direct horizontal sunlight, but are still dark enough. They seem to get totally clear at night though.
I'd say 95% of the time they're perfect. It's also nice not having to have glasses for every occasion.

If you search for Pacific Coast Sunglasses you'll find some nice inexpensive models for the bike. I have the padded Freedom glasses polarized and they're really almost the same as my Wiley X's. I think they were $20 for polarized and about $12 for clear. Shipping is pretty cheap too. I just bought two new pairs.
I just bought a pair of WileyX Street(no foam) glasses. The optical clarity is surprising. The wind protection is very good for no foam. So far I'm satisfied.
i recently got a pair of gatorz wraptors and they are really good. the shape and curve fit my face better than any other glasses i have owned. feather lite and completely distortion free lenses. they don't have foam, but the way they are shaped really sheds the wind. i rode for hours this weekend without the windshield and was fine.
