I see that the Street Vibrations rally in Reno is scheduled for Sept 20-24, and was thinking of riding up from L.A. to take it in for a day or two. Anyone been there before? Worth the trip? Lots of vendors? LEO hassles? Good places to stay?
I went 2 years ago from Portland. Nice ride down and back, good riding around Lake Tahoe. Lot's of vendors on Virginia street. Cops were cool from what I saw. I hear Virginia City is a pretty wild time, but I didn't make it over there. If you've never been and are jonesing from somewhere to go before the weather takes a turn, I'd go for it. Hotel rooms could be a challenge this late in the game. I ended up getting a room at the Hilton for under $120, but it's not close to the action.
Haven't been to Reno in over twenty years. The last time there it was all bikers and cowboys and we partied. Actually left Reno with more money then when I arrived. Try that in Vegas.
It is great fun, great rides, tahoe, virginia city, great entertainment. I'll be there! besides it is my home town so I will be riding up from vegas on Monday or Tuesday to visit with family.
It's my first event ! I'll be there saturday and sunday. Hopefully to see some "Slip-on" Exhaust and other stuff I need. Hopefully I'll wait till sunday, so they can give it to me cheap. So they don't have to pack it back up! (LOL!) WISHFUL THINKING !!!!
