Through circumstances, I ended up at one of the local dealers this morning. As I paced the showroom killing some time I noticed that the dealer had installed a 1925 solo saddle on one of their new Crossbones. I decided to look at the parts and labor list that they hang from their bikes that they modify with H-D parts prior to sale and I was just flabbergasted!
They had listed a total of 1.5 hours of labor for an added cost of $135 to the cost of the bike besides the full retail price of the seat ($269)! Now I KNOW that is a little more than BS! I have the 1925 solo saddle on my Bones and it took me all of 15 minutes to install. Never mind that I purchased the seat for less than $200 brand new.
It makes me feel bad for folks who don't know better and end up paying these insane prices when they buy a new Harley.
