johnd5412, fraid I don't have any sort of diagnostic tool. I can see a purchase of one in the future.

nevil, I haven't pulled the plugs yet. That's going to have to wait until tomorrow; anything specifically I should be looking for?

you might be geting a lack of oil to your cylinders and could be scored by thr pistons

You don't need a diagnostic tool, there is a built-in system using your odometer button. Here's a link that explains it:
