Default FLSTCI floorboards

I would like to move my floorboards (Riders, 2002 Heritage Softail Classic) out (wider) an inch or so. I think this would make the bike much more comfortable on longer rides, especially on the right side. Anybody done this? if so, how'd you accomplish it? Photos (if possible) would be appreciated.

Do you have engine guards on the bike? I mounted adjustable highway pegs low and close in to the floorboards on the engine guards on my '06 FLSTCI. Now, I usually rest my heel on the floorboards and the ***** of my feet on the pegs. Or, I can slide my feet a little forward of the floorboards and rest my heels on the pegs. I can't stretch my legs out into that gynecological position favored by so many, but somehow that doesn't bother me very much!

This has the same effect as moving the floorboards out. That may be tricky, based on the design of the floorboard brackets.

If you don't have engine guards, something that has worked well for a lot of folks around here are the Kuryakyn Cruise Arms, which you can see here.

Hope this helps.

If you just want to push the boards out, I remember seeing something in the 2006 Kuryakyn catalog that moves them out 3/4 inch. I don't have the catalog but I am sure that was there.

I also put pegs on the highway guard but I used a combination of H-D parts and Kuryakyn parts. Did so because I am 6'4" and I could get brackets for tall riders.

Hope this helps!

Kuryakyn does make a spacer kit that'll move the boards out 3/4 of an inch, and HD makes a kit that'll move the boards up 2 inches... I'm using both on my RK Custom, works great for me...
