So Vancouver, WA is just north of the Columbia River from Portland, Oregon. If you want to have a 90 minute ride (+/-) from the Pacific coast OR to the (Oregon or Washington) Cascade mountain range, then it may be for you. If you don't apreciate the natural beauty of the coast, mountain ranges (some snow capped year 'round), valleys, farmland, and the like, then probably not for you.

Really now: Outside of other foreign/domestic travels, I've lived on the east coast of US, midwest US, Guam, Asia and am now currently in the Pacific Northwest. IMHO it doesn't get any better than this (PNW)...

If you are a rider and like to put on the miles, you will love the Vancouver area. Head out in any direction and you will find great roads with many beautifully scenic vistas as well as twisties that will challenge your riding skills. There are many great eating places in the Vancouver/Portland area and a vibrant club scene in Portland. There are also a lot of HD owners in the area so you should feel right at home.

And if you get tired of the twisties and rain head east over the Cascade mountains to the central Columbia Basin area. Very hot and dry with a huge irrigation system and thousands of acres of circle irrigated farm land. Also many thousand more acres of wheat. There are also hundreds of orchards growing apples and cherries. Mt St Helens volcano, Mt Ranier and a hundred and one other things to see and places to go. You'll love it out here. Here's a road I was on a few days ago:

we all love our areas that we live in i have ridden in half the united states and all states have great rides but since i moved to vanc, you can flip a coin and head in any direction and its breath taking i ride the loop up to bend oregon three times a year and you go thru mountains , ride along beautiful rivers, and come back thru twisties and open desert, it really is rider friendly and the cops do not hassel you if you come hope you enjoy

Vancouver is a nice town. Just over the river from Portland, OR. Between the two, you'll never get bored. But what's really nice about the area is that there is a line between city/town and country, and it's not far away. Beautiful country. In Vancouver, you're right on the Columbia and about halfway between the ocean and the mountains, about 75-90 mins each way). You're also within a 3-hour radius of the Olympic Peninsula, Seattle, skiing in WA, skiing in OR, the OR coast, WA/OR wine country, excellent trout and salmon fishing, great hiking/camping, etc.

I used to live in Seattle and visited friends in Vancouver regularly. Still visit them a couple times a year. Beautiful area.

Lived in and around Vancouver my whole life. It's a biker's paradise up here. Mountains, Volcanoes, Valleys, Coast, Desert, Plains, Rolling Hills, Lakes, Rivers, the Gorge. It never gets old! Check out the book Motorcycle Journeys Through the Pacific Northwest. It's also a very nice place to live. Lots of small towns around the greater Portland/Vancouver metro area. Any specific questions about the area, let me know (email or PM).

@BurgundyUltra06. Sig pic... McClellan Viewpoint? Was just up there a couple weeks ago. One of the best loops around here. Love Wind River Rd! And of course, you gotta stop in Stevenson for some ice cream.
