I am in the market for an 883 Iron for my wife. She hates the taxicab yellow, and wants something other than black. She decided to go with the silver denim. My two part question is
1) Can you still order a 2010 bike or do they have to locate one
2) If they cant be ordered, and they are selling out the old stock to bring in the new, should I expect to pay the same as what a 2011 Sporty would cost, since the MSRP on both are identical? They both list at $7999
You'd need to work that out with the dealer.. I would highly recommend going in and talking to them if you're seriously interested. I've been bike shopping as well.. one dealer was already prepared to give me the bike pretty much as if I didn't pay tax.. so you save a couple grand. I didn't even have to fight for that. Another dealer would only give me a discount on the 2010 model that they had another one of... if it was their last model, I'd be paying MSRP. And that was after some discussion as well.
It's really up to the dealer how much they want to get their 2010 models out of the way... but I'd say a decent dealer should sell it to you for a grand off.
btw good choice on the silver Iron 883.. I've never seen one in person, but they look wicked in photos. A lot nicer than the blacked out ones.
