Just came back from a family vacation in Florida (Orlando). Where do you folks in Florida do your riding? Went over to Sand Key area of Clearwater and it was pretty busy. Went over to Daytona down to Cocoa Beach and that was also pretty busy. I went to school at the U of Miami back in the 80's so I know that area is also congested. Great weather and real nice beaches there, just need some riding reccomendations to get away from the "old folks" and the crazies on cell phones. Thanks!!
You are supposed to ask before you come down. Just check in below always something going on. Generally stay off the interstates and highways and stick to the county roads. Fla Dragon 11 corves in 318 miles.
LOL @ the FL Dragon... too true! I either do a "country" ride heading east from Tampa, or do a beach ride from Clearwater to St. Pete Beach. Definitely have to be more alert on the beach ride.
Go north. Lots of small towns and great country riding once you get north of Leesburg. Wildwood, Dunnellon, Morriston, Willston, Cedar Key, Bronson, Chiefland, Newberry.

I know. I know. I should have asked you guys first. Got caught in a hell of a storm on Wednesday coming back from Clearwater on Route 4! That was interesting. Anyhow thanks for the input, I'll give you guys a "heads up" the next time.

Central Florida north of Orlando...east of Daytona. Many lightly traveled country roads. I'm partial to routes 17, 11, 13, 441, 27 and some others w/o route numbers that I've just wandered into without planning. See Mt Dora, Leesburg, Ocala, Tavares, Bunnell, Deland, Crescent City...lots of lil places. I generally avoid interstate riding in FL...too congested...not much fun. JMO
Just moved to Deland. Check out Clearmont. Hills. I was shocked. Check out Astor. Blackwater Grill there. Three Bananas Resturant. Also Howey In The Hills. Check out Hwy 42.
Have been to Tampa from Deland on very little four lane.
