Every time while I am at work and it starts raining, at least 3 or 4 people run in to tell me my bike is getting wet. It gets tiring telling them that it ain't gonna melt just cause it's got a little water on it. I just tell them "Oh well, at least I won't have to wash it today".

The weatherman is looking for rain everyday this week. I stll ride daily and also ride at work. That's why they make rain gear.

Better to cover it up when it is parked in the sun. The UV rays will do more harm than the rain.

I don't bother trying hide mine from the rain when it's parked, when I just rode it in the rain. It is disappointing that having it parked while it's raining doesn't wash off more of the road grime it got on it getting there though.

I leave mine uncovered if its raining or not, its gonna get filthy either way. I never understood why people advertised that their bike had never been in the rain when trying to sell it. I mean the bike never saw a drop of water when washing it?
Yep, what he said.

I'll wipe it down when I put it in the garage but not when I'm out and about

If you have a Sporty you better cover it - the fuse box gets wet and the relays crap out - happened to me twice and the dealer asked if I power wash the Sporty -NO- it`s a design flaw - water gets past the battery box cover and into the fuses.

One problem with throwing a bike cover over a wet bike is that when it stops raining the sun can come out. The bike cover becomes an instant humidifier that traps moisture, I'd rather just let the water evaporate and dry on there. The bikes already dirty anyway.
