My only respnse to that kind of boorish behavior is, "You think so? I'll think about it, thanks for the advice" as I'm firing up and leaving. Otherwise, I just let him ramble on with the selective hearing switch set in the "off" position.

It doesn't matter if it's bikes, guns, guitars or amps, when someone starts a sentance with "you should" or "you ought to" I just say to myself "man not another one of those guys!"

I'd have just said, nice bike, hope you get it fixed and running right then rode off. He had no idea he was a tool and wouldn't catch on to what you meant til you were long gone. Mine is bone stock and I like it. Maybe pipes and a/c later but for now, I'm good. to each his own.

Yep, whatever the topic, there's a know-it-all in every crowd. My favorites are the ones who don't even ride/play/etc. but want to put your gear down. I usually just say something like, "that sounds nice" or "have fun with that" and go on about my way, because you really don't want to argue with someone like that.

I just show em my wedding ring and walk away.....no matter what they are telling me I "should do" I have probably already heard it.
