Although it works fairly well as a penetrating oil, there are many better products for that job. As far as being a lubricant goes, it evaporates away too fast to have any value.
It worked real good to clean the chain before lubing on my 84 Sporty. Also worked good for cleaning the lube off of the rear wheel. It is a very good grease cutter.
Nothing other than removing tar. It promotes intergranular corrosion. There's a reason the Navy quit using it decades ago, and went with Break Free instead.
I haven't used WD40 in so many years I couldn't tell you the last time. I read years ago, that WD actually attracted dust and moisture.
Their are so many better options on the market today. CRC makes a wide variety of great products.
