Believe me or not, I still have the original battery in my 2000 Road King.
No winterizing, garage goes to -20 in the winter, and I never put in under charger
So I have wondered how long the stock Harley battery will go before it should be replaced? I saw a lot of different opinions and seemed not to help me, I will just tell my story.. My bike is a 2006 streetglide, I brought it home in Oct of 05, I live outside of Salt Lake City Utah and ride all over the western half of the U.S. My garage gets down into the low twenties in the winter and around eighty degrees in the summer. It gets put on a trickle charger if I don't see a ride for two weeks or more. My battery started showing signs of weakness last fall, but never left me stranded. It quietly passed away over the winter while on life support for the past 3 months. So that is 8 riding seasons and 9years ago.

You got your moneys worth out of that battery. It's life would be greatly increased if you used a tender more frequently. I've had batteries last me anywhere between 4 years and 14 years. I always go with OEM batteries and my current battery is brand spanking new having replaced a 8 year old OEM battery. The oldest one prior to that was 14 years old when I sold the bike it was in. I know for a fact the new owner didn't replace the battery for at least another year. It's a crap shoot with battery life, but I usually expect about 5 years from a battery before I worry about it much.

I believe it.
Just replaced the original battery in my '03 last fall. It never failed me, but was getting weaker & I didn't want to be left stranded.
10+ years of service out of a battery is pretty good!
