I just got stung, right on the throat, was only a few minutes away from a walk in clinic so I pulled into their lot. It hurt, but what concerned me more was how big the welt had gotten and how red and tingly/numb my throat was. They gave me epi and a steroid shot as a precaution and a steroid script.
I had on boots, jeans, jacket, gloves and full face helmet, was just thinking I was glad the heat broke and I could ride in full gear again. Still don't know how he got me, I was going about 30-35 mph, never felt anything big hit my jacket collar or helmet.
NO epi pen but, as I was riding down I-35 outside San Antonio a Trucker hit a swarm of bees that caused the main part of the swarm into me. When the beees where finished with me I looked like the Michilen Man. I looked like Tommy Boy when I got off my bike.
Had a tarantula wasp get between my helmet strap and left temple, it bit/stung me 5 times before I could bring the bike to a stop in the middle of nowhere by Carlsbad Caverns, luckily no bad reactions just mega pain the rest of the day.
I was in my neighborhood the other day and was riding with shorts on. A wasp went up my shorts a bit and stung the crap out of my leg. No big deal at the time other than the pain but 2 days later my entire thigh was red, swollen, hot, and itched like mad. I went to the doc and he said it was infected/cellulitis and put m on antibiotics. It was much better 2 days later.
I took one in the throat the other day. Not sure if it was a bee, but at the next stop, I still had the stinger in my neck. A year ago I had one of those black and yellow bumble bees in my jacket and stung me five times. The bug in the neck the other day didnt even compare to that.
Watch Guy..where in western canada are you? I am in northern bc..
i've been stung in the nuts while driving my truck and that was brutal...nearly jumped out but kept it together enough to pull over and "deal with it".....
