I just went up on thursday morning, stayed at eagles landing campground for 2 nights and came home saturday. I spent $175. that includes fuel, food, camping, etc. from Colorado to Sturgis
While we're on the topic of Sturgis.....can someone recommend a campground or cabin rental that is reasonably quiet at night? Don't mind hell raisin' but when its time to sleep I want to do just that.

I've stayed with the family at the KOAs in both Spearfish and Rapid City. They have (enforced) quiet hours. Killer pancakes in the am as well.
I stayed at shade valley this year. Nice quiet place 10 minutes from sturgis. They had a shuuttle bus to town and to the chip. Cost me about 1000 for 3 days but I spent alot of time at the bars.
Just wondering what's included for the $210.00 since you stayed somewhere else.
No, I camped at the Buffalo Chip. I stayed in a motel while on the road to and from. When I got there BC tickets were selling for almost $500. Mine was purchased in January at the $210 price. For your money you either get your camping, with the concerts thrown in for free, or you pay for the concerts and can camp for free. It's an all inclusive price.
I hadn't camped at the Chip since the 1990 rally (50th). I found this year's version to be both tame and lame. I enjoyed some of the concerts, but I wasn't entertained enough to make me want to stay there again. Also, when camping at Glencoe I didn't mind making an evening trip to Deadwood or Rapid. Having paid for the Chip concerts I didn't want to miss them. In 1990 the Buffalo Chip was a wide open party. This year it was very much sanitized for your protection. There were even little kids running around. I would never have expected to see that.
In Sturgis, a cheap motel? I doubt even the cheap motels are cheap for the rally. They all jack their prices to outrageous amounts for the rally. It's like trying to buy your wife cheap flowers on Valentines Day.
