i stay at Eagles Landing campground. it is about 1/4 mile from downtown. they have tons of really clean portajohns. They have a building with a row of maybe 20 real stall toilets, 20 or so sinks, and maybe 30-40 showers. They serve food and drinks. They have a band, and a shuttle that runs from there to town every 30 minutes. The shuttle and band are free with addmission. Price is $20.00 for camping in a tent. They have hookups for the trailer crowd. wifi, etc. I have a hard time sleeping anywhere but home, and I find it fairly quite. They do have quiet hours I think when the band is done. Im not sure the time.

We stay at a secret campground close to Glenco and Full Throttle, if you book in advance and for 3 nights it will cost you $30 per night for 2 people to camp. (I'm not giving the name out, as I dont wan't 1000's there next year...ha ha !).

If you actually want to sleep some time - forget about the Buffalo Chip. Take ear-plugs with anyway as there are bikes riding all night long, cops, ambulances, sirens and last year canons going randomly. KA-BOOOM !!!

Then budget say $100 per day for food, beverages, gas and t-shirts and other nick-nacks.

Beer at One Eye Jacks was $5 per one beer, how many beers do you dring a day. A DUI will cost your about $10,000....so take DA BUS (A shuttle from the campgrounds to downtown) which costs $10 each way...or don't drink. Beer at the gas station is $10 per 12 pack....a better option than drinking down town.

If you have any outstanding warrants - stay far away from Sturgis - you will be arrested if the cops ID you.

Don't speed, cops are everyehere.
If you STOP at a light or sign, put your feet down (both of them) and come to a FULL STOP.
At night, wear clear glasses or you will be busted, ID'd, checked for DUI and run through the ringer.
If you have apes - they will bust you if above your shoulders.
Display of acceleration - yup - busted.
etc

Well if you get busted for a DUI - you are going to jail.

Then you will need an attourney.

Then you will need to bail your *** out of jail.

Then you will need to show up for court, DUI-school, insurance, loss of income etc etc.

Add it all up - what $ number do you get.

That just about right here in Canada too. My neighbor had one a couple of years ago. It cost him $7000 just for the lawyer and he still lost. lol.

The same guy and he's up the creek again without a paddle. This time he's killed a 20 year old kid in a head on collision, because he passed on a solid line. He was totally at fault and drinking, again. He told me the other day he had to cough up $30,000 for his lawyer this time, and I am quite sure he'll lose this one too.
