I was changing the oil in the primary and when I pulled the drain plug I notices the end of the plug was covered with a silver looking sludge. So then I took a flashlight and looked into the primary and noticed there was some on the chain adjuster too. I'm not sure if this is a concern or not or if this is normal. can some please shed some light on this issue.
The next issue would be that I had the 10,000 mile service done at the dealership and after changing the transmission and the primary I noticed the the oil had and order to it and it also had what looked like a little water in it too. Not sure if the dealer actually changed the oil and charged me for the service.
I know from my buddy riding his quad through deep water that water will turn oil whitish and frothy (yes I said frothy LOL)...Not sure if this is your problem but its a possibility
A small amount is normal. It is probably coming from the starter drive/ring gear engagement. You may even find slivers of metal stuck to the magnet. Combine this metal mixed with the fibrous material from the clutches and it looks worse than it really is.

Yup. normal. When you change your primary fluid, clean the drain plug/magnet.
As others have said the sludge and metal flakes are completely normal. However, depending on the odor coming out of the primary you may have a problem. There is a smell a burnt stator makes. It is hard to describe, but once you smell it you'll never forget it. Kind of like burnt cat mixed with oil. If you smell that smell, better check your charging system because you are about to become a pedestrian.
Thanks all for the info! The burnt smell from the primary oil smelled like the oil that came out of the transmission. I think the stator is fine. I have not seen any difference on the amp meter.
