Default Baked on bugs

Need to find a safe and easy way to clean baked on bugs from heat shields. Anybody got some good advise they want to share?

Get an old towell (shower towel), run under hot water, lay over fairing fo 2-3 minutes. The bugs will wipe right off. Wouldn't believe it if I did not see it myself.

Scotch Brite No Scratch scouring pads with soap and water when you wash the bike or with a little windex if you're just giving it a touch up.

That works wonders on the fairing but he is asking about bugs baked on the heat shields.

I'm not sure about "baked on" bugs, but here's what I use: Clean the bike then apply a coat of Nano Wax from CarBrite to everything. Chrome, stainless, aluminum etc. This makes it much easier in the future to wipe the bugs off quickly with just a spray and a rag.

Turtle Wax Chrome Polish & rust remover has been around about 30 years and will work good. ALso works good on boot marks on exhaust too. I keep a bottle of it around close.

Even the baked on beasts will wipe off easily with the application of a hot wet towel for a few minutes. Cheap and effective.
