I dunno... Sounds like you guys were being nice and sharing a spot with your bikes. Then one day he came back with the car, was probably in a hurry, someone took the usual spot, he figured you wouldn't mind if he squeezed in with your bike, he took extra care getting out so he wouldn't hit it... And then you chewed him out. I say cut him a break. Life's too short.
If it's another scoot, no worries. If it's a car or truck, they should be on their side of the stripe. Just like on the road- even though it's skinny, it's still my lane!
I never park my sled in the street or a parking lot--always on the sidewalk. If I go to Wal-Mart, I pull it up on the sidewalk next to the front door. On the street, I go up the wheelchair ramp on the corner & ride down the sidewalk to the store I'm going into. I would rather risk a parking ticket than a ding from some idiot (wouldn't be able to afford the bail, anyways) Been sidewalk parking for almost 38 years & have never gotten a ticket

+1,
No damage, why make an issue out of it.
You original post said 6"-12" but then it sounded like there was enough room to open the door and get out of the car.
I'd bet if the car had been there first he would have parked his bike next to it.

no i would have parked somewhere else.. the guy only rides his bike once in a blue moon and has only ever parked there twice, the first time when i was parked normal, then a few days later when i was parked on the right side line to give him plenty of room.. he has ridden a few more times but parks where its closer to his work area, but i always leave open a space for him in case he wants to park there..
i'm dead serious about he close he was.. there was no way he could have opened the door normally to get out.. he had to be holding the door against himself and sliding out.. the other two people who normally drive the car asked, how did he get out of the car, the one suggested he got out the passenger side..
