That is where I got mine last Thursday at their after hour sale...I did use a 15% discount coupon for it.

I am going to use the handlebar/seatpost mount on mine and put it on the lower crash bar tonight and drive around to check it out. I kinda want to see my feet shifting to, so maybe on the bag guards too?

My buddy/former boss at CG just got back from Mexico on a dive trip. The HD takes awesome underwater pics and vid. Up to 100 feet.

Handy if you dive and don't have a camera.

the HD is the way to go, for sure. I've used the suction cup on various locations on the bike, solid as a rock at all speeds. The coolest perspective I've shot from with it so far is using the handlebar mount clamped to the right side of the front axle ( fits like it was designed specifically for that spot...) BTW, that's on an 09 Sporty, you may not have quite as easy a fit.
Overall, an awesome action cam. Too wide a lens for much else, but it does produce great video

Yes, and several more permanent mount pads too (3M VBH backed). I used the suction cup mount stuck to the front of my RKC windshield, and it held just fine for a 300 mile jaunt through the Sierras on snow heaved, pot holed roads. Of course you need to actually clean the glass to give the suction a fighting chance too.

I've had my GoPro Wide for a few years now and it's worked flawlessly and I'm very happy with it. With the firmware update you can use up to 8GB SDHC cards which will outlast the two AA batteries when set to record video (< 1.5 hrs is my experience). When it's set to shoot every 3 seconds they'll last much longer.

After doing this for a while, I'd dissuade folks from mounting the camera on the bike if you're taking that once in a lifetime ride. Whether mounted on a RAM setup, or using the suction cup on the windshield, you're limited to pointing the front tire at your subject. A helmet mount, while admittedly uncool in appearance, shoots what the rider is looking at which tends to be the best shots...

I've had one for about 3 years. HD wasn't a choice back then, I wish my picture quality was a little better. If I had it to do over I would have bought the standard lens model instead of the "fish-eye"lens. It's a neat effect but I don't want wide-angle pictures ALL the time. I have a stick on mount right on my RK headlight ring. I set the camera to take a picture every 3 seconds. You get some neat shots in places like crowded main st in Daytona. The picture is me testing out the suction mount (on my gastank). This picture makes me laugh, I look 4 feet tall (as opposed to 6' tall 220 lbs.)

The HD also shoots video at 60fps. Big difference than the 30fps.

I'm really surprised it's taken this long......we're all talking about a video camera and people are stating "HD version is better."

HOW ABOUT POST SOME SAMPLE VIDEO FOR THE OP TO MAKE AN EDUCATED DECISION.

If I had the cam in question, that would have been the first thing I would have done.

(..and people pick on the south for being slow)

Talk about Slow!, I have one and never knew it took video (maybe I read it and forgot). It states it will fit 56 minutes of video on a 2GB card so I would expect a pretty low grade result.

I honestly can't tell here..... are you joking or do you really think he's referring to Harley Davidson and not High Definition..... there's a High Def version and a standard...... you DID mention the south so I had to at least ask to see if you understood the new-fangled computer lingo.....

Huh?

GoPro is a portable video/still camera designed for vehicles including motorcycles. They have a standard resolution version and an HD (hi-def) version. He's asking if he should get the standard resolution version (based on price) vs spending the extra on the HD version.

If you're trying to imply that because I'm from the south (South Carolina) I may be an idiot, you're sorely mistaken sir.

Since we're talking about a video camera and the OP is wondering if the HD version is worth the money you'd think that someone with the standard version would post a video and someone with the HD version would post a video for comparison.
