Default Magic Eraser Miracle

I was washing my bike yesterday and noticed some rust and tarnish building up on various chrome pieces (i keep it outside with just a cover). I tried some polish but got no where and then remembered I had bought something called Mr Clean Magic Eraser the other day for my house. The thing took off the rust and tarnish off with a few scrubs. The finish now looks brand new! Give it a try if you have the same issue with your bike.

The only problem I found on using various scrubs or even magic erasers is that the chrome tends to rust more easy from just sitting in the garage in the high humidity much less riding in the rain after using these products.. I use Turtle wax chrome and rust remover if there ever is any rust on a chrome part and this keeps the part from rusting again as easy. Just my .02 cents.

I'd be careful with the magic erase. I use it to clean the stylus on my cartridge on my turntable, but that's made out of diamond. I'm sure it would begin to strip the chrome finish if used regularly or aggressively.

Bones.

Don't call it magic for nothing. I use it all the time. Not long ago I had some melted plastic on my pipes. Got it all off but it looked like the pipe was permanently discolored. Tried the magic eraser as a last resort and the discoloration magically disappeared.

They are ok for whitewalls on tires. But, there is no way i would use them on chrome. They are abrasive and it will scratch chrome therefore, making it easier for rust to for in the future.
