When someone asks to ride my Ultra, the answer is usually "Ignition's unlocked and the helmet's in the saddlebag." If they ask to ride my Ironhead Sporty, the answer is "NO."

That could break a lot of friendships, since I am not Mr. Moneybags,

I agree. Comparing it to sharing your wife is kinda silly...
I've let buddies ride it that I know, trust and am completely confident in their ability to handle the size and weight. For me, that's good enough. As for the wife, I'm not sharing her with anyone...I love that woman!

Another HD owner that I knew and I could borrow his...yes. Anyone else, likely not unless they could afford to pay for any damage and willingly acknowledged their liability......

The only one that I have let ride my RK is my son, he has his own sporty and is a good rider. My bike is personal to me so I wouldn't let anyone else borrow it.

So money is more important than friendship? I am no moneybags either, but money WILL NOT come between me and my friends.

I am kind of a hypocrite, I will ride others bikes, but won't let anyone ride mine. I suppose when I get too old to ride, I will let my son ride my bike.

I let pretty much anyone ride as long as they know how. My friends know that if you drop it you're paying for it and being military it will end up that way regardless so whatever I say. Its my bike and its meant to get ridden not looked at so if she ends up getting some dings and scratches so be it.
