I dont think it's just a air cooled motor thing. I just remebered that my softail Deluxe never pinged out there. ?????????/ Im wondering how my new bike would have done if it had been stock??????

32vld - aviation gas has to do with high compression and turbo's. Lower octane fires better and burns more fully than higher octane - period.
Are you one of the misinformed that thinks octane is power. Octane is just a value that identifies it's RESISTANCE to ignition and that is all. Power in gasoline is measured by BTU's and all octanes of gas in the US have the same number BTU's per gallon.
By the way the EPA is working to require all aviation gas to be 87 octane in the near future.

Everyone should know this I tell people all the time they are wasting money running 93 octane in their vehicle when it calls for 86/regular. I think alot of the uniformed are influenced by the oil companies calling the high octane stuff "Super", "Ultra",etc.....
