sounds like a good business move, if they don't get their money they can just call his C.O.
i'm just kidding man, but i dealt with Overseas Military Sales while in AFG last year and i'll say this; it depends on the bike he wants and where would be buying if he wansn't over there. best bet would be to get a quote and then call the guys at his local dealership in the states to see if they can match or beat it, most likely the benefits will play in his favor going the military route but if you don't ask you'll never know.
Was in the same situation as I am over seas in the Middle East myself. Rep here where I am told me right before I left on R&R that if I got a quote from my dealer back home, by contract, they have to beat it by $300. Not really sure if it is true as I ended up finding a used RK that my fiance and I fell in love with and bought that instead. Also they are supposed to have financing thru a couple different credit unions at a really great rate if he is going to finance it. Other than, that is all I can tell you. Good luck with the decision.
Sounds like a good deal to me. Make sure when they tell him that price delivered to Germany it actually includes the overseas delivery charge. I bought mine through Exchange New Car Sales also, overseas delivery is about $1,000. They are offering some good deals, trying to get the 2010 stock out of their inventory. ENCS buys a bunch of bikes to have in the inventory and holds them in the states until they can fill a shipping container to send them to an overseas location (25 bikes from what they told me). They get how ever many bikes folks "order", then fill the extra slots to get the container full and have some on display at the Exchange. A friend of mine here is getting a 2010 Softail Custom, it's in the inventory but won't be in country until the first of the year.
