go to protwin.com and check out some of the complete kits for what type of riding you would want it setup for. Easier to do than a science project and won't leave you scatchin' your head on what went wrong..........

My advice if you are concerned about the warranty is to not touch the engine displacement or heads outside of the SE product line. If you are just looking for some good=extra 10-15% tq/hp performance increase then I think a cam swap is right and you could stick with the 96" till the warranty expires (assuming you have a high flow a/c and exhaust upgrade). Even if you had to stick with an SE cam to spare the warranty they are pretty decent and I believe there is a good selection out there to fit your riding style. I currently ride with the 255 cam and I like it a lot...but I'm going to the andrews 54h in a few days.

The build you are planning WILL outperform the Harley Stage 2 kit simply because of the 255 cams that come with their kit. If you went with their Stage 1 103" kit, and your 555 cams it would be even better yet. Bumping the compression will definitely help you also. You couldn't GIVE ME the factory Stage 2 103. They're charging you about 500 bucks just for those 255 cams. I'd go with the Stage 1 103 and get my own cam of choice.

The 103 would be what ever comes with it as HD offers as a stage 2 in the catalog?

Any Opinions? Would have to remain reliable as I drive it nearly every day
have your cylinders bored out for the 103 for around $150 or even 107. do everything else you mentioned (10:1 pistons/port heads/tw555 cams or andrews 54's)for the 96in. on the 103 you'll be happy! you won't get the warranty, just a nice running bike with plenty of power. 2 into 1 pipe with this would be a good choice.

In case U don't know, both the Touring and Softail sections have Dyno threads.. There both Sticky threads at the top of the first page,

Spend a little time in there and U'll see what builds others are doing and the results they get.

That was "out the door price" including a tank of gas! (All the above, parts, labor, dyno time and warranty included) Got the remainder of my HD original warranty, which is 8 months, which my HD dealership states it will honor after the build.
