Would this be a good starter bike for a woman? Discuss/Respond... Thank you for your input!
If the woman wants to work on bikes it's a good starter. If she wants to ride bikes, not so much. IMO they are asking plenty for it.
I don't recommend Sportsters as starter bikes for anyone.
I recommend 600-750cc metric cruisers. Cheap, reliable and easy to handle.
Age and make may require some work to keep on the road. It is an old Sporty but it is a sweet looking old bike. The price isn't bad--seems a little on the low side if the bikes is in good shape. Have you drove any other bikes? I like Sportys but they aren't the best handling motorcycles. I wouldn't recommend this bike to someone unless they love to work on bikes and know how they ride.

I agree. Buy a used 500cc bike that's easy to ride and move up in size after she learns to ride. Many of the MSF classes used 500cc Buell Blasts to teach new riders.
