I wanted to post another update of a few other things I bought from leatherup.com

I had a 15% off code for veterans day so I thought I would browse around and see if there was anything else that I needed (wanted). I had been wanting to get a rainsuit and thought I would try one of theirs, but I was going to wait until I needed other stuff. No need to pay $8 shipping for a $50 rainsuit. While I was looking around I realized that they sold tires. My original D402's are right at the end of their life and where going to be replaced this winter so I thought I would check on their prices. They where slightly higher than jakewilson.com or denniskirk.com, but with the 15% off code they where a really good deal. Here are the links for the Front and Rear tires.

Also wanted to note with the tires that they have a Born on Date of 3010 so they are new tires.

So since I was ordering the tires I thought I would throw in the rainsuit too and see what I thought of it.

XELEMENT MEN'S 2 PIECE BLACK, SILVER AND ORANGE MOTORCYCLE RAINSUIT
https://www.leatherup.com/site/product?pid=93612

When I orderd my Jacket I orderd a L, so at first I thought I would want a XL rainsuit, but after looking at the size chart and doing some measuring I thought I would go with a size L in the rainsuit as well. It fits perfect over my jacket and leather over pants. It can sinch down pretty tight in the waist but still kind of baggy if I have it on without the leather jacket, but that is to be expected. There are two decent size pockets on the jacket and only one on the pants. The one on the pants is on the front of the left thigh about in the middle, which should make it pretty easy to get into. The butt of the pants is reinforced, and the same type of material that is on the butt is also on the lower inside of each leg for some heat protection. I personally think that there could be a little more of that material there, but we will see how it goes. The description says that all the seams are taped, it is hard for me to tell for sure because there is a mesh liner inside but from what I can tell they appear to be, and I have no reason to doubt the claim. There is a small zipper at the bottom of each leg, and the stirrups can unsnap to make it easier to get on with boots.

Pros - good construction, should keep me dry.

Cons - Zippers on legs seems kind of cheap, wish there was a second pocket on the pants.

Overall thoughts - This it is a very nice rainsuit for the money. Others like it at local shops run around $100. Very happy with this purchase.

Side note, the rainsuit and tires shipped separately. I ordered everything on a Tues around 10pm. The tires showed up at my door around noon on Thrusday! Very quick. The rainsuit showed up on the next Tues, so a full
week for that, which is fine. They say on their shipping 7 - 10 days.

I bought the Xelement brown retro leather jacket, chaps, and gloves. The jacket had to be returned because it was way too small....my fault. I didn't read the reviews. Gloves too went back... too small. The larger size I rcvd (XXL) are still small but wearable. The chaps arrived with a broken snap. For the money, they are okay but had I seen these in a store, I wouldn't buy them. Pretty cheesy.

I've picked up the Xelement rain suit last year, good stuff, no complaints. You can tell it was made for bikers, it's not one of those $3 camping rain suits that disintegrates in the wind and melts onto the bike.

Got the Cool Rider leather jacket last week. Great buy, decent hardware, got one size up, fits perfect. (Buffalo). The only cheese leather is on the undersides of the arms and the sides between the front and rear panels. $99? Yeah buddy. I figure that since I wear it about three months out of the year it should last 50 years, or if I lose it or someone steals it, I won't care.

Default Just Saying...

I've bought a few things from them: Boots, a jacket, two sets of bags and a couple of other things...
I have had very good luck with them; that said I read a lot of the reviews before I order. If fifty guys said very good things about some item (mentioning four or five things that are important to you) stands to reason you should be OK... Their prices are IMO unbeatable. They don't gouge for shipping. Their stuff seems to be what they say it is.
Obviously they are not sellers of "Top of the line merch."... They sell "Value".
Just Saying... (I am in no way associated with them, I am retired and pretty much don't do or say anything I don't want to

Sure thing... Check around the forum before you buy. The seem to have 15% off codes a lot, but they are emailed to prior buyers. Right now (until 12-1-10) if you use the code THANKS4 you get 15% off.

Well after the crazyness of my inlaws in town for a few days I finally got around to calling Leatherup.com yesterday to ask about returning my wifes gear. For the most part the phone call went well. I only had to push a couple of buttons before getting someone on the phone, and I did not have to sit on hold forever. The guy I talked to told me to fill out the return sheet that came with the order and I can specify what I want to exchange it for, or if I just want to return it. I pay the shipping to them and they take care of the shipping back to me, which I think is fair. One thing that did bother me a little was when I asked the guy if there was any way that they could measure the arm length on a coat for me, so that I could see if the one we got my wife was an odd ball or if they where all like that. He just said "No". I said that I realized that they probably did not have a coat sitting right there next to them, but if there was anyway that they could contact someone that ships the jackets, to see if they could just measure, and again he said "No". I asked "So, that is not possible at all?" and he told me that there was no way he could make that happen. I was a little irritated about that, but oh well. My wife went out today to a local shop and tried on a few jackets (leather and fabric) and they all fit about the same. I guess she just has short arms. So we are not returning the jacket, but we are returning her pants and boots, and exchanging them for different gear. She is going to try the mens overpants, and going down a half size in the boots. We should get the box shipped back to them tomorrow or Thurs. I will let you know how the rest of the process goes...

I've bought some things from leatherup myself. I bought a similar jacket to yours, the only problem I had with it was a zipper broke within the first 30 days I calleld them up and had the option of returning it to them for repair or having it fixed at a tailor and they would reimburse me up to $25.00 (which they did with no problem) I had other returns due to sizing issues, they were handled with no problem too.

I can understand their inability to measure a sleeve for you. The nature of the beast is that they have a large fulfillment warehouse where every order is transmitted to and then the order is filled by a (probably) minimum wage worker. I can see where it would be difficult if not impossible to get the personal service that you requested. That's the chance you take when ordering off the internet. All in all it works for some people. I think though that I will buy my next gear at a brick and mortar store. Thanks for your reviews.
