Yup.....was the brake light switch. Coulda fixed it myself, but I didn't want to ride it home with no back brakes.
Gald you got it fixed and I could ride the rest of my life with no rear brakes LOL! I use fronts 100% of the time and rears maybe 30-40% when 2 up, but fronts mostly when solo.

Maybe on a Sportster, but not on a bagger. f/r bias is 75/25, but you need both to stop quickly.
How does a bad brake light switch cause the brake fluid to leak? Just curious.
The top blows off and the fluid squirts out. Have'nt picked up the bike yet, but hopefully they saved the bad one so I can see exactly how it broke. Service writer said he had 3-4 of them go bad this year.
Been there before. Took my Night Train in for its 1000 mile service and somewhere between my house and the dealership I picked up a nail in the rear tire. By the time they got it on the lift it was flat. Got a phone call about it 20 minutes after I left the dealership.
I was very suspicious at first, but any given day I can walk the alley behind my house and pick up a half dozen rusty nails.
