Unless you are grabbing the E85 pump handle then you are probably running gas with 10% ethanol or less. There are lots of things that cause mileage variations.

Your speculating on economics and agenda. I firmly believe that the lobby groups own whomever is in office because all politicians are ******. I do agree that everyone needs to vote. Too many people have sacrificed much to preserve the illusion of a government elected by the people for the people.

But where will they get the ethanol? Corn prices are going up and last time this happened ethanol producers went belly up in droves. Unless another gov't handout is on the way.

I had a real "ethanol" sensor in my development vehicles, so on off-site road tests I also knew the amount of Ethanol in the fuel we installed from every station. You would be suprised at the difference from one station to another in the amount of Ethanol delivered from various stations and BRANDS.
Every brand gets their fuel from the same tank farm, yet the "additive" package is added for each BRAND. Our "Fuels anb Lubes" dept. regularly published a comparision from fuel samples taken across the country ( and Canada), and there is a vast difference between fuels from the various stations and BRANDS!
Top brands traditionally have more and more effective detergent additives. That is important to resist injector plugging and deposits!
( That said, I never use fuel from the guys that their SIGN would allow you to "hear the Ocean"!!)
Everybody knows that Ethanol in petrol is a bad idea, including the Kenyan In Chief who pushed this crap on us for a block vote from mid west corn farmers. Bloody scandalous and must surely be reversed when the ******* is voted out of office?
I see these fuel threads all the time and, not being a US native, I have to wonder why the states has so many different fuel standards, seems crazy to me.
Over here we have 95 octane, 98, and Diesel, and a few places that have 2 stroke fuel and the occaisional leaded pump for the oldtimers. Thats across europe, easily as many consumers as the states, if not more, and everyones ok with it.
I dunno, maybe I am missing something here, but I just dont get all the different fuel mixes you guys have to deal with, and more variants on the way.
Seems you'll soon have to choose your fuel based on manufacting date of your vehicle!
