I keep a mental note of mileage for maintenance purposes only.
Tracking mileage for purposes of an award means you're riding on someone else's terms. This ain't exactly the "freedom" that many associate with riding.
I do. So far I'm at the 25,000 mark. Like some of the posters above I didn't do this for a long time. Likewise, when I did sign this bike up thay sent me the retro pins and patches. Like most of the HOG/Harley pins and patches I have I throw them in a drawer somewhere. I just collect the things, but since I don't wear the "Harley Uniform" I don't sew or pierce that stuff on my riding jacket. YMMV.
Good to know! I wasn't sure I would be able to do this, since I have yet to log my miles with HOG. I'm the original owner, so I'm guessing' they just need to verify my ownership? I just passed 25k as well.
First, take your bike, along with the downloadable form from the HOG site (https://members.hog.com/website/take...ge_program.jsp ) to your dealer so he can verify CURRENT milage. Any miles before that WILL NOT COUNT. Send in that form
As you reach the milestones, take a new form and the bike to the dealer for verification and send that in...
IF you do like I did, and change bikes, take the form and have dealer verify old bike milage, AND new bike so you don't lose any miles.
I will be sending in for the 80K sometime next month...
I have done mine since I got it last year. Just take to dealer and have them verify and they fax in form. I am just about to roll 15k so got my 1k, 5k and getting 10k soon in mail. Pins are on vest I wear and since I ride so much will probably have patches sewn on during winter.
and the point of all this is.............basically get u into the dealership to spend some money on something, I know i can go into a dealer with out dropping some change in there lol
But enjoy your pissing contest. it cool have fun.
