Default CVO Windshield Install?

Just received the new CVO Road Glide windshield. As usual no freakin instructions from Harley. Has anyone installed the new CVO windshield on their Road Glide? I need to know if I am supposed to remove the two little rubber strips that are stuck to the faring? The screws seem to be to short to go all the way into the rubber screws? Looks like the factory rubber strips are causing a problem. I sure wish that Harley would include instructions to the buyer to make sure that the part gets installed according to the factory intentions/specs.

THANKS!

See if this applies to your windshield:

The part you are referring to is the gasket. I replaced my windshield several times before I found the right one for me. Some windshields I was able to use the gasket, & some it was too thick. Harley makes a smaller gasket that fits on the bottom like rubber trim. You can also buy auto door trim from an auto store really cheap. Both will work. I use two windshields now. One has the auto trim & one has the smaller Harley gasket. You can run it without anything but the gaskets & trim protects the paint a little. Also, be careful you don't use the hardware in the holes in the fairing. Very easy to do if you push too hard. Don't ask me how I know?

Again, don't lose the hardware in the fairing by pushing too hard. Damn spell checkers. Said use instead of lose in my last post. Anyway, good luck.
