I have the HD mesh jacket too, and I like it for keeping the direct sun off me. But on an Ultra, with all of its wind protection, not enough air gets to circulate to keep me real cool. It needs to fit real well to be effective. Moving around a little and raising my arms occasionally allows air to cool me down.
I bought a Joe Rocket Phoenix for $80. Love it! Real comfy in the heat and the armor doesn't feel like boiler plate. Ordered it on line at. www.motoxoutlet.com.
I have the HD mesh jacket ... when its chilly, I leave the liners on and it works well. When it starts to warm up, I take out the liners and now have the mesh (with body armor).
I vote for the HD Switchback as well. Very versatile and comfortable as long as you are moving, however sitting still is another matter in 90 degree plus temperatures and 90 percent humidity down here in the Gulf Coast.
