First Gear mesh in solid black. Has the shoulder and elbow armor and a useless back pad that I took out.

Jacket is nice and reasonable cool even in the hot weather. (Rode in AZ and UT in July in the early mornings). Recommend a Camelback hydration pack too if you are doing really hot weather long distance stuff.

Jacket was about 130 and good looking without the Power Ranger look.

I also have a First Gear Mesh Tex jacket and it has been great. I have to wear long sleeves when riding to work (civilian contractor on a military installation), so mine gets a lot of use in the summer months. I went with the silver/black colors because: 1) I've got silver on my bike, 2) the base requires "contrasting colors" during the day, 3) the silver reflects some of the solar radiation/heat off of me that solid black would absorb.

You will find mesh jackets will allow adequate airflow if you are moving, but get hot when you are stopped in traffic. Not only does it keeps the sun from beating down on you it also will give you a huge increase in crash protection over a t-shirt. Overall, I would say with my windshield a t-shirt alone is slightly cooler than the jacket, but without the windshield it is about even. When I dumped my Heritage this spring wearing only a t-shirt the road rash on my arms and shoulders would not have been there if I had been wearing my jacket.

OBTW, without a doubt my Skid Lid half helmet saved my life during that crash! Even with the helmet, the direct blow my noggin' received caused a concussion with after effects lasting for over a month. It's all better now, I just wish I had been wearing my jacket when I tumbled... There is a pic of me wearing my mesh jacket while sitting on the Road King posted in my gallery <--.

The First Gear Mesh tex is a great jacket for the money. I have worn mine for 3 years and here in Florida , we wear mesh almost year round.

Mine is silver (to reflect the sun) and black. The black started fading this Summer so I got an Olympia mesh in silver.
The Olympia really looks great and has a liner good to around 55 degrees for $180.
