Anyone have one of these? I know you get what you pay for but I'm not a professional wrench so I would just use it in my garage. Also anyone have an alternative to these? I think this one is on sale with an additional $100.00 off.
I would say t read the reviews on the page. They seem to like it. I did check out their boxes last time I was there and they seemed to be built pretty good.
I'm not a professional mechanic so I purchased a similar toolbox for a little less money about 3 years ago at Home Depot. I just use it in the garage and it has held up well.
I've seen this and other "US General" brand toolboxes at Harbor Freight. Their construction looks pretty good. Not as good as Snap-On but hardly anything is, and Snap-On's prices are astronomical. Comparing to some other brands like Craftsman and Kobalt I'd say the Harbor Freight boxes are just as good maybe even a little better.
Some stuff at Harbor Freight is really junk, but some stuff isn't all that bad.
Ive had one for five years now and still works fine. i change the oil in the car and turn a few wrench's on the scooter. tool box will most likely last me a life time. I'm happy with it!
My Father in law bought this one. http://www.harborfreight.com/11-draw...net-67421.html
Its held up well. Its a little cheaper construction than say A Craftsman ( Kennedy) box. The draws stick alittle if they are filled with a lot of heavy stuff. The one you are looking at looks a lot more heavy duty. As you said you are not a Pro. Should hold up good for weekend wrenching. I like all my tools in one organized box. Heres a coupon just in case.http://www.harborfreightusa.com/html...mages/20_c.jpg You can use the coupon on sale items.
I'd bet its better than the newest Craftsman I have. I've been really disappointed in it. I don't buy Craftsman tools anymore. IMO the quality has fallen and the warranty isn't like it used to be.
looks like a decent box to me. if i needed one here at home or could justify merging two boxes to one, i would buy one myself. i need a lift before i buy a new box for home.
I am a fan of Craftsman since a little tyke but saw a very large roller chest/top combo for under $200.00 at Home Depot the other day. Metal was "light" but the roller arms seemed to be OK quality. Nice black with brushed silver drawer fronts.
