I've used the Novello kits twice. When I first saw how they went together with a simple friction joint I had second thoughts but after seeing how the shrink wrap locks it tight I had no further concerns. No way that joint could come apart.
I was going to try making my own extensions last time but after thinking about soldering 28 connections vs clip together and shrink wrap I went for the Novello kit.
But the connections for both my jobs were outside the bars in the triple tree area. I think if I had to make connections up inside the bars I would consider soldering them if for no other reason so the joints could be staggered and more pull friendly. With the extensions all the joints are at the same place.
