Always wear it. Ony have one head with a brain and even though the head ain't pretty and the brain wanders occassionally, neither can be replaced. I think it gives me teh best chance of survivability. But that's just MHO and in no way affects your rights to make your own decision.
Nude Hampster has no helmet law (once you are over eighteen...) and I don't wear one..
I have one (somewhere) for when we go to the BBQ in Vermont, we have to stop on the NH side of the river and put our lids on to ride less than two minutes into Vermont because their "Super Troopers" wait and watch for us ....
(I never go to Mass, Frenchman(kind) lives there ...)
I can tell you that 99% of motorcyclists don't wear one when they are here on bike week...
I used to wear one 100% of the time when I raced (at the track, not on the road) and just can't seem to wear one on the Harley... a full face feels a little lame on a harley and a brain bucket is useless...they don't even stay in place when you smack your dome...
Besides, I would hate to ruin a hundred dollar helmet on a five dollar head !!!
I use to only wear my helmet when it was cold or raining. Since I beat the odds of a possible serious head injury when I T-Boned an azzhat back in 2006, I always wear a brain bucket now .
no helmet law here.. i have a DOT mx helmet because i was required to wear it at a bike shop i worked at 4 years ago, on test rides(shop rule was my fault,i rode a quad thru a fence and needed 6 staples in my forhead)i wore it once since, last jan. because it was 10 deg and icy out...helmet is required for under 18 and for the first year.. i had a moped liscense at 14, i wore a lid for the first year, then quit. got motorcycle temps at 16,wore a helmet sometimes..didnt get the endorsement till 18(riding course was required for under 18 and it was scarce back then)never wore one again after i was legal except at my last bike shop job..
I wear one when it's cold. But it's an ACC novelty helmet, if that counts. I usually wear a pickup truck when it rains - can't see an advantage to riding in the rain, when you have a truck at home.
+1
I live about 5 mi from the Louisiana state line. Take a novelty helmet with me just in case, we decide to ride East, most times we stay in Texas.
Bobby Jindal crawfished on his promise to repeal Louisiana's Helmet law. So what else is new!
